Fire up the grill and skip the burger joint with these tasty and healthy turkey burgers!
1 pound extra lean turkey burger
4 tablespoons lite teriyaki sauce
Sliced red onions
4 pineapple slices
Spinach leaves
4 whole grain hamburger buns, english muffins or pita bread
1 Preheat grill (indoor or outdoor grill or frying pan) to medium high.
2 Form turkey burger into 4 patties and brush each patty with 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce. Grill patties 4 minutes on each side or until juices run clear.
3 During the last few minutes of cooking, place onions and pineapple slices on the grill and grill until lightly browned (if desired).
4 Place burgers on buns, top with grilled pineapple, grilled onions and spinach leaves.
5 If desired, drizzle a 1-2 teaspoons teriyaki sauce over turkey burgers when finished. Makes 4 burgers.
