Let your imagination run wild and add your own special touch. Add garlic and parmesan and serve with pasta or add light cheddar cheese and serve over veggies.
1 Tablespoon butter
1 Tablespoon flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup nonfat milk
1 In a small pot, melt butter over low heat.
2 Add flour, salt, and pepper to mixture.
3 Add milk gradually. Heat to boiling, stir constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly. (The consistency should be like thin cream.)
4 Remove from heat. Works well in stews and soups.
