Broiled tomatoes with a savory cheese topping make a delicious and unique side dish.
3 large firm tomatoes, cut in half
8 ounces low-fat cottage cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspooon garlic powder
1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
Cooking spray
1 Mix cottage cheese, basil, garlic and pepper.
2 Spread cheese on tomato halves.
3 Sprinkle with bread crumbs and spray with cooking spray.
4 Spray broiler pan with cooking spray. Place prepared tomatoes on a pan and broil about 10 minutes.
