Smoked turkey breast takes the place of bacon and cayenne pepper adds a spicy kick. Enjoy with oven baked crispy chicken.
3 cups water
1/4 pound turkey breast, smoked, skinless
1 Tablespoon freshly chopped hot pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 crushed garlic cloves
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 chopped scallion stalk
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 pounds mustard greens, or turnip, collard, kale, or mixture
1 Place all ingredients except greens into large saucepan and bring to a boil.
2 Prepare greens by washing thoroughly and removing stems. Tear or slice leaves into bite-size pieces.
3 Add greens to turkey stock. Cook 20-30 minutes until tender.
4 Serving Size: 1 cup.
