The smell of freshly baked biscuits on a Sunday morning will send the family running to the kitchen! But these biscuits aren't ordinary and they're healthy!
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
2 tbsp chilled stick butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
3/4 cup non-fat milk
Directions:
1 Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and dried herbs in a bowl; cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal.
2 Add cheese; mix well. Add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
3 Turn dough out onto a floured surface, and knead 4 or 5 times. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter.
4 Place biscuits 1 inch apart on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 425° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
5 Yield = about 18 biscuits. 1 biscuit = one serving.
6 ENJOY!
