Try this easy to make barbeque sauce - it's tangy & spicy and is much lower in sodium than bottled sauces. Use it as a marinade for chicken, tempeh or burgers!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup cider vinegar
1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon onion powder
Directions:
1 Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat.
2 Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes or until sauce starts to thicken. Stir frequently.
3 Remove from heat and allow to cool a little before using.
4 Use as a marinade or brush on meat or soy during cooking for a zesty flavor!
5 Yield: about 1.5 cups. Serving Size: 2 tablespoons.
6 ENJOY!
