Forget the greasy gigantic shell that's loaded with calories and fat! Make your own taco salad at home with baked chips and zesty ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 pound extra lean ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
5 cups shredded or chopped Romaine lettuce
2 large tomatoes, chopped
2 ounces baked chips, crushed
Directions:
1 In a large non-stick skillet, cook ground turkey until cooked through.
2 Add onion, green pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder and water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until veggies are soft and most of the water has evaporated.
3 Remove from heat. Arrange lettuce in a large bowl. Add meat mixture and top with tomatoes and crushed chips.
4 Serve with salsa and jalapenos if desired.
5 ENJOY!
