Chat rooms are located on each group's main page. Here, you can chat in real time with any of your group members.
You can send someone a private message by:
1. Click on any member photo or profile to be taken to their profile page and click on Send a Message.
2. If you are on the message boards, you can click on the button marked under any message posted by a member. PM stands for "private message." This will take you to their profile page where you can send them a message by clicking on Send a Message.
3. If you are on the message boards, you can click on the profile button under any message posted by a member. This will take you to their profile page where you can send them a message by clicking on Send "membername" a Message.
When you log-in, there will be an indication on your homepage if you have any messages. Similarly, there'll be an alert in the upper left of your Diet.com screen if you have any unread messages.

No. Your private messages and all messages sent to you through the message center are completely private.
Message Boards are discussion boards where people post their thoughts, opinions, questions and answers to other members. They're fun, informative and a great place to make friends.
Find the category you want to post a new topic under and click on the button that says New Topic. This will bring up a blank message for you to fill in. When you are done typing, simply click on Submit and your note will go up for everyone to see and respond to.
When you have read a message and want to post a reply to that person, click on Post Reply located at the top left corner of that person's message. This will bring up a blank message for you to fill in. When you are done typing, click on Submit and your note will go up in response to the original post.
You can tell if someone responded to your message by looking at the name of the last person to post a message next to your message. You can also tell there are new posts in a topic that you have not read by a little orange note symbol located on the left side of the messages.
When you post a message on the discussion boards, you can also click on the box located under your message that says "notify me when a reply is posted." You will get an email telling you when someone replies to your message.
To edit your post bring up your message and click on the edit button.
To delete your message, bring up your message and click on the little X button.
You can only edit or delete your own posts.
You can view all your posts by clicking on the “My Profile” link located on the top left corner of your screen after you log in. This will take you to your profile page. Click on the "View all posts" link located next to your photograph.

A Blog (short for web log or weBlog) is like a virtual diary, where entries are made and displayed for others to read and, if they want, respond to. Content can include text, links to your favorite websites, photos and images, audio clips and even video.
On Diet.com, we want you to have fun and feel free to discuss virtually anything from diet tips and exercise routines, to struggles, successes, or even your most personal thoughts and feelings. Diet.com Blogs are an interactive way for you to express yourself, make a record of your progress, and keep in touch with others.

To post your own Blog, you must first login to Diet.com. Then on the Weight Loss Community tab, click on Blogs then click “Post a New Blog”. Give your entry a:
After filling in those fields, click the grey tab titled "Preview" to see what your entry will look like. If you're satisfied with your post preview, go ahead and click "Submit". Your updated Blog will appear on "My Blog" page.
Anyone can include photographs in their blog - you just need to know some basic HTML tags and include them when you write your blog.
For example, the html for an image is this:
If you find an image on the internet that you want to use, you could right-click and go to properties and find the image address. That is what you put between the "" marks.
if you want to specify a size for your image, you can add a few attributes to your code:

Choose pixel values for the width and height.
If you want to link your image to somewhere, you can put in a link tag around your image tag.

Most importantly, the image you want to include in your blog must already be on the internet somewhere so that you can get a link to include in your HTML code! You can't upload photos onto Diet.com to have them included. Be careful of what images you link to on your blog, because some sites do not like when you link to their files, as it uses up their bandwidth.
To comment on another member's Blog entry, click on the title of a particular Blog. If only the summaries display, click on "Read the entire Blog" so that you are viewing the full entry. On the bottom, there is an entry box title, "Post a Comment". Type your comment in the box and when you're finished, click "Post". Be sure to read over your comment before you submit it because you won't have a chance to preview your comment.
Anyone on Diet.com can read your Blog. Blogs are great way to network, meet new friends, and keep in touch with your current buddies; however, if you don't want people knowing certain information about yourself, play it safe, and simply do not disclose it.
Currently, comments cannot be deleted. Be sure to proof-read them before clicking "Post"!
Open the blog you wish to delete and scroll down to the bottom of the entry. Here you will see an option to edit or delete your entry. Simply choose to delete, and it's done!

is the universal icon used for an RSS feed. This symbol is found on any of the blogs on diet.com beside the blog's title. This allows you to link these diet blogs to your google, yahoo, hotmail (etc) page so you can stay up to date in the community and with the latest diet & fitness news...even when you're not on diet.com!
To start up this feature, simply click the symbol on the blog. You will be taken to a page that has links to the major email & news outlets you may have an account with. Choose which outlet you would like to receive this feed through by clicking its picture. Now you'll be able to stay in the loop with the hottest diet and fitness trends, as well as your support at diet.com!
