I'm not sure why there are so many tracks that clock in at 125 beats per minute.
It's a nice, round number. And, a lot of music in this range is dance and pop--which is likelier to use a drum machine or loops than a live drummer.
So, perhaps people are deliberately writing songs with this tempo.
