Well, I finally feel like I might actually be a human being again. Had some surgery three weeks ago, and my body has just been fighting the entire process steadily. However, I am so very thankful that I had lost 30 pounds before surgery. It has drastically helped in the recovery process. Also, being physically active before surgery was a real bonus to recovery as well. Today, I added weight training back into my routine, as the doctor cleared me for it this morning. And though my muscles are tired, it's finally the good kind of tired again, instead of the draggy tired from recovery. I've lost eight more pounds since my hospital stay, so that brings my total up to 38 pounds. If someone had told me that sticking with the program outlined on this wonderful site would enable me to lose 38 pounds in a matter of three months, and have the added health boost that enabled me to get through surgery with few complications, I would have simply laughed in disbelief. But thank goodness that I found the wealth of information here! I feel better than I have in years, despite the health problems that caused me to have to have this surgery (and one more in the near future). I believe wholeheartedly now that if I can stick with the lifestyle changes that I have been living with since the end of May, I will achieve the goal I've set to be a healthier, happier, active individual again! Just had to say that. I'm done blogging now! :D
