We had some comments about breaking habits so I thought I would introduce you to a technique that is very effective in breaking bad habits. It is known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TFT (Thought Field Therapy).
I am certified in both modalities. They work on the same principles as acupressure. It is based on the premise that energy flows throughout our body. I don't really know exactly why it works, I just know that it does work with a 95% success rate with my clients.
Bye-Bye Cookie Monster
This tapping sequence only takes 5 minutes to run through and you would repeat the sequence until you notice a decline with your craving. I created the sequence based on my ebook Taming the Cookie Monster Within for my students. Here is a quick outline of the process:
When you have a craving for sweets or junk food, it is causing a disturbance in your energy field.
Just thinking about the craving can duplicate this disturbance. The more intense you can experience the craving the more effective the tapping sequence will be.
Tapping on acupressure points while experiencing the craving will rebalance the energy field, eliminating the disturbance.
There is more to this dynamic than I have outlined, but in essence, this is all you need to know to have a successful session. Kids do this with complete success and don't understand why or what they are doing. Just play with it and feel free to comment and ask me questions. Good luck.
