Janel's Vegetarian Kitchen

Some eat to live. I live to eat. Food, to me, is a hobby, a passion, and a way to bring people together.

As a registered dietitian and food enthusiast, one thing I enjoy the most is creating and sharing meals and recipes that are â€" shhhh â€" secretly healthy too. I love sharing my latest dinner idea or cake creation and helping others achieve their health goals while eating good food: food that tastes good and is good for you.

Let me share my vegetarian creations with you.

I encourage a mainly vegetarian diet. A well-planned vegetarian diet can provide an abundance of nutrients, vitamins and minerals, fiber, protein and - best of all - flavor! In most of my recipes, you won’t even know the meat is missing.

That doesn’t mean you have to give up meat altogether. But if you’re looking to cut back on meat, are toying with the idea of going veg, would like to reduce your saturated fat and cholesterol intake, or are interested in some new plant-based recipes, this blog is for you!

While I stick to a mostly plant-based diet, any of my creations can be altered by adding lean meats, swapping out soy cheese for regular cheese, or tweaked to meet your tastes. And if you’re scarce on time, or don’t feel like spending all night slaving over a hot stove, you’ll be happy to know that my creations are quick and easy once you have a well-stocked kitchen and some basic ingredients handy!

Sometimes I experiment with challenging recipes as well, but I’ll always give tips on how to make cooking and meal prep a breeze.

I’m using this blog to post recipes I tried and tasty products I find that I think are worth stocking in your cupboard. In addition, I'll share any kitchen gadgets or food-related goodies I find. I welcome any comments, feedback or replies to my post, especially if you try one of my suggestions.

Welcome to my virtual kitchen, have a seat, and let me show you what a vegetarian dietitian eats. Watch for my first blog this coming Monday, January 19th!

Meanwhile, if you hunger for great meatless recipes, be sure to check out the 700+ vegetarian recipes served up daily right here at Diet.com!

Yay! Welcome to Diet.com! As a vegetarian (though not necessarily veggie-lover!) and reluctant cook who is trying to do more of it (and frequently for a carnivore!), I can't wait to read your blog on Monday!

I'm so glad to see you are here! I have been looking for ways to incoporate some more veggies in my diet (and finding ways to get my husband to eat them too). I will definately be trying out some of your ideas!
