Although going on a crash or fad diet is tempting when you want to lose weight fast, these types of diets are not the best solution. In fact, many studies show that fad diets can actually encourage weight gain and play havoc on your health. Unfortunately it can be difficult to know which type of diet is best suited for your needs, especially nowadays with so many diets available. The good news is that you really don’t need to follow a particular diet to lose weight quickly. Here are just some ways for you to maintain the right balance.

Yes, What You Eat Does Matter

You may be surprised to hear this, but you should skip the fad diets and eat a healthier diet. Instead of starving yourself, you should limit starch and salt to reduce body fluid plus minimize added sugars, starches and animal fat for quick and healthy weight loss. In addition, you should have a weight loss plan similar to The Flexitarian Diet which is to:

• Never skip meals
• Drink ample amounts of water
• Keep busy to avoid mindless eating
• Remove “trigger” foods from your home
• Eat plenty of vegetables to help you stay full
• Eat at the dinner table, and never in front of the fridge, TV or computer

More than Eating Healthy

Losing weight takes more than just eating a healthy diet. In truth, studies show that other activities to encourage weight loss can be quite successful. For instance, changing your lifestyle can have a drastic influence on losing weight and keeping it off. Some of the best lifestyle changes include:

• Set realistic goals
• Make a commitment and stick with it
• Get rid of bad habits and attitudes that impair efforts to lose weight

Find What Motivates You

When it comes to losing weight, you are the only one that can truly make a difference. It is up to you to change things. This is why many professionals suggest that you find what motivates you. Once you are motivated, the rest of the regimen is a breeze.

Start by making a list of the motivators that will keep you focused. Next, implement those changes into your daily régime. For example, a note on the door saying to grab the carrot sticks instead of the ice cream will help you through the afternoon or late night snack binging. You could also throw set your car keys aside on certain days of the week and walk or bike to work. Or perhaps, set a date with a friend to go to the spa or fitness center certain days of the week.

Pamper Yourself at the Spa

When you are on a weight loss régime it is important to pamper yourself. In fact, rewards are a great motivator for staying on track. One of the best ways of self-pampering is to go to a spa or a club. Not only will a club encourage you to exercise more but it will give you the relaxation that you deserve. What is more, research shows that regular hot tub use increases your metabolism and cardiovascular responses to help you lose weight. To find the best one for you, check out various hot tub reviews and see whether or not any users have reported any health benefits.

Be More Active and Stay Active

Although you can lose weight and not be physically active, your progress will be drastically slowed down. As well, research shows that people who diet and exercise have a greater chance of keeping the weight off.

To have that extra weight-loss edge, it is best to boost your metabolism with some exercise. If you are not sports enthusiastic, you can get your exercise by walking to work, taking the stairs or maybe working in the garden. But for people who love being active, there are a plethora of things to do such as hiking, swimming, jogging, tennis, baseball and even ice skating. ...    Continue
