My victory dance was short. I started to gain weight on the scale the following day. First it was .4 lbs, then another .2 lbs, and the hardest was 2 lbs in 24 hrs. The weight gain coincides with day 1 of my period.

I read that bloating and water weight start during the premenstrual period and the water will be released during the luteal or bleeding period. My diet didn't change, except on the eve of the two-pound weight gain, I had a cup (uncooked) of whole-wheat pasta. That's probably it, right?

I am still doing my 3.2 mile walk/jog everyday. Also did a 40 minute of Takata. So I am not necessarily sliding back into old, sedentary ways.

The solution, it seems, is to simply drink more fluids so the kidney would flush out excess sodium that in-turn retains more water. Also, to watch sodium intake. Got it.

My next personal goal is 148 lbs and I've set Junly 18 (2 weeks + 2 days from now) as my deadline. I got time.

Not going to lie, the reversal in weight data is disheartening. But all the more to celebrate the victories when they come.
