So my weight loss was not the healthy way but, didn't really have a choice in the matter. Christmas eve of 2015 I found myself after 3 days of pain falling to the floor in agony. I was brought to the emergency room to learn I had a preforated colon from an unknown diagnosis of diverticulitis. At 35 I was not expecting to hear diverticulitis. Diver disease runs in my family. I was admitted to the ICU for 8 days. I spent almost 6 months dealing with colon problems and was on a very strict diet no fiber diet that basically consisted of yogurt, potatoes, pasta, and chicken. Over a 6 month period I lost 60 pounds. I went from my highest weight of 240 down to 180. Due to poor nutrition I developed an under active thyroid that made my hair fall out in clumps. On May 27th I had my entire sigmoid colon removed, part of my small intestine removed, and my appendix. It is 16 weeks post surgery and I am back up to a weight of 200. I do not have any food restrictions. I would like to find a healthy lifestyle and try to add more fiber and water into my diet.
