If you're sick of trying different diets that don't work, maybe it's time to try a new strategy to boost your metabolism. With a healthy metabolism, you should be able to achieve and maintain a healthy weight without starving yourself (which is never a long-term strategy anyway).

3 Steps to a Healthy Metabolism

  • Build Muscle. If you're trying to lose weight, you're probably already doing some cardio to burn calories. Great! But you need to build muscle, as well. Muscle helps to shape your body and gives you a fit, shapely look. Muscle also burns more calories. Create a balanced workout program that incorporates strength training at least twice each week.

  • Eat Protein. In addition to weight training, you need to eat the right amount of protein. Not only will protein help you build muscle, but lean protein helps you to feel full longer so you eat less.

  • Eat Regular Meals. There are quite a few myths about healthy eating. One of them is that regular meals will boost your metabolism all by itself. It won't. But eating regular meals will help you to avoid poor food choices and binge snacking that will make you feel sluggish and can contribute to weight gain.

Now go hit the weight room!
