Super slimmer Cheryl S. is down 41 pounds and ready to ring in the New Year at her goal weight of 165.

She tells Diet.com that the key to her sensational dieting success is not giving up... no matter how hard it seems.

And Cheryl knows what she is talking about. She has had to overcome more than most dieters - she watched her calorie-burning metabolism screech to a halt after having her thyroid removed!

"I had never had a weight problem until I had my thyroid removed," she says. "I was on meds and couldn't get my weight below 215."

That was her starting weight last January when she linked up with Diet.com.

Forty-one pounds later, she says the secret is simple.

"I owe it all to Diet.com -- it changed my lifestyle. I started exercising and changed my eating habits. I also changed jobs and that lowered my stress level by 75 percent!"

Cheryl has stopped drinking soda and started eating smaller portions. (That's a photo of her at right; it was taken last Christmas.)

Those are great steps but the real push to stay the course comes from monitoring herself via the Diet.com website.

"The support I get from everybody here is awesome," she says. "The people are so wonderful I have referred a lot of people.

"No one judges you here - they are all here for the same reasons.

"Thanks to Diet.com I am now able to monitor what I eat and how much I exercise with the tracking tools."

Our Rhode Island slimming star expects to drop her last nine pounds by Christmas. For reaching the 40-pound mark, she gave herself an early present -- a few minutes in a massage chair!

Cheryl started her weight loss journey wearing size 18-20 clothing; she's now able to wear 14s without straining!

"I still have my old pants and every so often I slip into them and watch them droop -- I LOVE IT!" she notes.

"My son who's 22 told me he's proud of me -- that meant so much to me that it brought tears to my eyes.

"Even after I hit my goal weight there's no way I'm leaving Diet.com - I will continue on to maintain."

Cheryl's advice: "Don't give up. Take it slow -- a step at a time -- and you'll get there!

"Please keep remembering that advice. It really works."

In Her Own Words

My favorite type of exercise would have to be walking. Its something I can do with my friend or alone when need be.

As for diet tips, self control is the number one key. This is something I did not have for many years until I found this website.

The main thing that keeps me motivated is knowing I'm losing weight and inches. Having my best friend Becky to keep pushing me along and my Diet.com friends to give me the confidence and support I need even during my down times helps me so much.

I have overcome so many obstacles since I came to this website. It's a wonderful feeling just knowing you have people backing you.

My key to success is not giving up no matter how hard it seems. It has been a lot of hard work to get to where I am but it feels so good to know I have lost 41 pounds since joining Diet.com.

I plan on reaching my goal this year before Christmas so I can go to my sister's home and wear something really nice and not look like a blimp like past years.
