A low carb diet doesn’t need to be boring. There are lots of different types of foods that you can pair together to make a tasty meal. Here are a few examples of the types of things that you can eat:

Chicken and Broccoli Salad

There are several different ways that you can cook chicken so that it doesn’t dry out. You can grill it, boil it, bake it, or lightly fry it in olive oil. The caution with chicken is that it needs to be completely cooked through before it’s safe to eat. Season the chicken to your taste and cook it however you choose. You can steam the broccoli or eat it raw. Toss the ingredients together and add a little salt and pepper. You can even add other ingredients to spice it up. Tomatoes and a small amount of cheese would add some more flavor.

Salmon with Hard Boiled Eggs

Fish is a good source of vitamins and nutrients. It is best to eat fresh fish over processed fish. The canned variety may be cheaper, but there is a lot of added salt. You can pair any type of fish that you like with hard boiled eggs for this low-carb dish. Salmon is a rich fish that will give you a lot of flavor. You can also use tuna if you prefer it over salmon. Consider dressing up the dish with a little bit of pineapple or mango. For a well-rounded meal, add bell peppers to your fruit choices and make it into a salsa.

Pork Chops with Stuffed Zucchini

One of the best ways to impart flavor to your meal is to cook it on a wood plank, like those from Kelly Craig BBQ Products. There are lots of different types of wood that you can use for this process. Each will impart their own unique flavors. Pork chops are fairly easy to prepare. Just like with the chicken, pork needs to be thoroughly cooked in order to be safe to consume. Add your favorite’s fruits and vegetables to the zucchini to in order to obtain a nice rich flavor. Cook the entire meal on a wood plank of your choice in the oven.

Beef Skewers with Grilled Onions

You can make this easy meal two different ways. The first option is to put the beef on the skewer and then grill the onions separately. You can also alternate the beef with the onion on the skewer and then grill them together. Make sure to season your beef to your tastes. You can even spice it up by combining acidic fruits to the mix. The juice will seep into the beef and keep it moister during the grilling process. You can substitute any type of meat of your choice with this dish. If you prefer, make it a vegetarian side dish.

A low-carb diet doesn’t need to limit your options when it comes to meal planning. Follow the main guidelines, and create your own unique dishes.
