How much time do you spend obsessing about your imperfections? Really. Think about it. Do you count the dimples on your rear, or focus on those squiggly lines beginning to dart from the corners of your eyes? Do you step on the scale too often, or beat yourself up for that slice of cheesecake you ate at your co-worker's birthday party?
Sound familiar? So, turn it around! Focus instead on your ASSETS! You know you have them. You just need to reconnect with what it is that makes you AMAZING!
Step One: Extend your definition!
Do you have an infectious smile? Are you a great comfort in times of crisis? Are your legs strong and sturdy enough to push through that third treadmill mile... three times a week? Are you great with money, or look fantastic in your stylish new pair of jeans?
Don't limit your assets to one particular area of your life. You are full of wonderful, meaningful attributes.
Step Two: What are YOUR best assets?
Using the "extended definition" above, make a list! Think about all those different aspects of your life: work, family, relationships, appearance, spirituality, etc. What areas of greatness do you have to offer - in all aspects of life?
Step three: Change your attitude!
Now it's time to QUIT obsessing on the negative crap and focus on these positive attributes. Those silly wrinkles by your eyes? They are simply a byproduct of your beautiful, radiant smile! And that figure on the scale means nothing when they see how your figure fits into that flattering new dress! Oh, and there's always room for birthday cheesecake!
Step Four: Go ahead and flaunt it!
Here's the fun part. Allow those positive new thoughts to manifest in positive new deeds and actions. Wear those jeans, flash that smile, offer that special brand of friendship to the new neighbor. Inspire others through your confidence.
