If you have nagging dental pain, you may be surprised to learn that there are certain foods and supplements that are good for alleviating this type of discomfort. Putting the right nutrients into your body can elicit natural healing effects that can improve the quality of your life. You can try any of these foods or supplements to relieve your dental pain.

Coconut Oil

Using a high-quality brand of organic coconut oil can be highly beneficial for your dental health. Coconut oil works by targeting the cavity-causing streptococcus mutans bacteria. With a technique known as oil pulling, you can pull the bacteria off your teeth by swishing some coconut oil in your mouth. For the best results, try swishing one to two teaspoons of coconut oil in your mouth for 20 minutes and then brushing your teeth. You can also find toothpastes that are made with coconut oil.

CBD Oil

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a cannabis-based oil that may help quell your persistent dental pain. The oil acts as a natural numbing agent that can quickly ease discomfort. One of the best ways to use CBD oil is by adding a few drops to your toothpaste before brushing your teeth. CBD oil works especially well if you have a teeth-cleaning agent that’s made with baking soda. A reputable compounding pharmacy can sell you CBD oil that’s formulated correctly for the best results.

Honey

Honey contains a natural antiseptic known as hydrogen peroxide that can inhibit bacterial growth inside the mouth. A great way to use honey is by mixing five teaspoons of it with one teaspoon of cinnamon and applying the mixture directly to your teeth two to three times daily. You can also try combining raw honey with one teaspoon of turmeric in a small amount of water to create a paste that you’ll rub on your teeth to alleviate pain.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a soft food that won’t put a lot of pressure on teeth that are experiencing pain and could be aggravated by harder foods. It also has beneficial probiotics and minerals that can help with the remineralization of your teeth. You can try eating yogurt with baked or mashed potatoes for a nice soft meal that will allow your body to get many of the nutrients that it needs without putting you in agony. To help strengthen your teeth and prevent future dental problems, try looking for a yogurt that’s high in calcium and vitamin D.
Relieving your tooth pain can be as simple as the foods and supplements that you consume. The right foods and supplements can improve your oral health and make it possible for you to eat and speak with less difficulty.
