3) Reading or watching TV while exercising can actually reduce your results. You’re less likely to focus on pushing yourself if your eyes are glued to a page or a screen. Make sure to focus on your posture and breathing as you pace through your workout. Invest in a music player or listen to the radio instead for some heart-pumping jams to keep you moving and motivated.
4) Speeding your way through your workout: including weight machines, can shortchange you when you’re trying to get in shape. By going too fast, you risk injury to your muscles. Slow down and breathe with each repetition and give yourself enough rest time in between sets; also, alternate days of working your upper and lower body to allow your muscles to rebuild and recover properly.
5) Improperly adjusted weight machines common causes of failed results and strain or injury. If you’re struggling with a machine or it feels awkward and uncomfortable, you may be trying to lift too much weight, or it might not fit you correctly.
