Ingredients - 1 tablespoon light margarine or spread
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 5 1/2 cups water
- 5 teaspoons low sodium beef bouillon granules
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 3 slices crusty French bread
- 3 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
Instructions - Melt margarine in a medium saucepan over low-heat. Add onion, cover and cook for 20 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring occasionally.
- Add water, bouillon and Worcestershire, stirring well. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Top each slice of bread with 1 tablespoon of parmesan and toast until cheese is melted. Place 1 bread slice on top of each serving of soup.
