Meals!
Welcome to diet and fitness podcast, a free audio

and fabulous host, Lady Diet ready to give you the
skinny on diet, fitness, health tips and
news.
Many of us may know the benefits of eating fruits and
vegetables, but yet we are still reluctant to
incorporate them into our daily diet.
On average we should be eating five or more servings
of fruits and vegetables a day. However, only 20% of
us eat one daily serving! The number of people who
actually do eat five or more servings is even less
than that!
Our bodies need the vitamins, minerals and fiber that
many of these fruits and vegetables contain. Most
fruits and vegetables are naturally low in fat and
calories and taste delicious. So why do so many of us
shy away from them? Not only are the shelf- lives
short, but we are now overwhelmed with so many low
fat, low calorie snacks that eating fruit and
vegetables just doesn’t seem as necessary. Remember,
strawberry ice cream and fruit juices do not count as
part of your daily serving! Nothing beats fresh
fruits and vegetables when it comes to jump starting
a healthy diet.
Here are a five simply ways to incorporate fruits and
vegetables into your diet, without having to adjust
your lifestyle.
1) Try adding strawberries, bananas or blueberries to
your morning cereal. It adds flavor and vitamins!
2) Pack some cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks or grapes
for a healthy snack after lunch.
3) For a side dish at dinner, boil some broccoli and
cauliflower until soft then mash up, add some low fat
butter spray and serve as a tasty mashed potato
alternative!
4) Fall is also a great time to go pumpkin and apple
picking. It’s a fun activity and afterward you can
cook up some great recipes or just keep a bowl of the
fresh fruit on the kitchen counter.
5) Keeping healthy food in sight and the junk food
locked up can help you and your family make better
choices. Try creating a fruit basket for the
centerpiece of your dining table. It is a fun
activity and it will look so appetizing you won’t be
able to resist the delicious, sweet fruit!
