Welcome to Diet and Fitness Podcast, a free audio podcast sponsored by Diet.com. This is your fit, fun, and fabulous host, Lady Diet, ready to give you the skinny on the latest diet and fitness trends of your favorite celebrities. What are Hollywood’s A-listers doing these days to maintain their famous physiques? Turns out, a little bit of everything from yoga to hiking to martial arts. Everyone does it differently, but they all look drop dead gorgeous.
Let’s start with one of my favorite Hollywood hotties, Matthew McConaughey. This Texan charmer’s body is seriously drool-worthy. Matthew, a consummate outdoorsman, has been spotted running and cycling with the ironman himself, Lance Armstrong. He also surfs in Malibu and then makes sure to calm down with some meditation on the beach. What a catch!
Aisha Tyler, the actress in Ghost Whisperer, does yoga, runs, hikes, and snowboards, to name a few activities. She likes to mix it up so she doesn’t get bored. I was shocked to read that the Aisha has been getting up at 3 o’clock in the morning to exercise. Talk about commitment or over-commitment!
Rebecca Romijn is a Pilates faithful. She’s been doing it for over 7 years which might explain why the star of the WB show Pepper Dennis still looks 25-years-old at the age of 33. To keep a long and lean look, Brooke Burns, also of Pepper Dennis fame, swims regularly. For all those of you out there with sore joints, try swimming to alleviate pressure.
Tapping into the trapeze-craze, Alias actress Mia Maestro says she fell in love with swinging with the greatest of ease when a play she was in had a trapeze scene. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stays slim by running up to 4 miles a day. Busy Phillips of the show Love, Inc. runs a couple of times a week to “angry music” to keep her going. She also loves spinning at an LA gym, but her schedule rarely allows her the time to go.
ER’s Linda Cardellini has herself a great idea… she puts the elliptical machine at her house right between the kitchen and the couch. If you can stand a giant piece of equipment in your living room, it might pay off. That way exercise is always calling your name and in the way of snacks in the kitchen. Jaime Pressly is a fan of martial arts and boxing, and also drinks eight to 10 bottles of water a day. Jessica Simpson keeps her bod in shape with three-times-weekly weight-lifting workouts with her personal trainer in addition to serious cardio.
And that’s all she wrote, folks. So make like your favorite celeb and get to the gym or simply step outdoors.
