Welcome to Diet and Fitness Radio, a podcast brought to you by Diet.com. This is your fit, fun, and fabulous host, Lady Diet, reporting live from sunny Hollywood, CA. Today’s dish is all about “Different Styles for Different Shapes.”

You’re hip, you’re trendy, you’re slim… or at least you would like to be. I think we all realize that not one body is created equal or alike, so finding clothes that fit your shape can prove to be a difficult task. I’m one of those gals who’s bigger on the bottom than I am on top, so bathing suits especially are always a problem for me. Luckily, separates or mix and match bathing suits are more popular than ever. But I digress- I want to talk about your body shape and ways to get the hip look you want. It’s not like designers create an outfit with all sizes in mind, but there are ways to pull off a trendy look no matter your shape or size. I’m going to give you some proven fashion tips from the experts at Marie Claire magazine that will help you look and feel great:

  • Tip 1: If you want to wear a skirt and are weary about your thighs, hide them with a pleated, knee-length skirt.
  • Tip 2: Elongate that torso in an empire-waist top and slim trousers.
  • Tip 3: Enhance your curves in a body-hugging jersey wrap dress.
  • Tip 4: Slim-down with vertically striped pants.
  • Tip 5: Minimize your butt in a full, A-line skirt.
  • Tip 6: Create a waist by using a belt just below the chest.
  • Tip 7: Flaunt your arms (ooo, I like the sound of that) in a strapless chiffon dress.
  • Tip 8: Soften your shoulders with a neutral jacket and eye-catching pants (like red or orange).
  • Tip 9: Look taller in cuffed short shorts.
  • Tip 10: Boost that bust in a halter dress with a banded bodice.
And the best way to jazz up any of these outfits? Accessorize! Jewelry, bags, and shoes are just as important as the clothes you are wearing, so make a fun yet not tacky statement! Big worn-in looking bags are always a must and try a printed head band or scarf when riding in that convertible to the beach (riiight). Chunky, colorful wedge sandals are all the rage this summer as are big hoop earrings. So try something new! Plunge right in!

Ok, amigos. Those are my fashion tips for today. Remember, you already look fabulous! Diet and exercise are just ways to make you actually feel fabulous on the inside. Take it one day at a time. Come back again tomorrow for more exciting tips about diet, fitness, celebrities, and life! Thanks for listening and remember to check out Diet.com.
