Welcome to Diet and Fitness Podcast, a free audio podcast sponsored by Diet.com. This is your fit, fun, and fabulous host, Lady Diet, ready to give you the skinny on the latest diet fitness health tips and news.

Part of a successful diet is embracing the mindset “everything in moderation.” Cutting out the treats that you love can actually set you up for failure because you may feel like you’re depriving yourself of something you’d really like to have. Who amongst us can resist that temptation for long? Not me!

So this week let’s check out the top ways to keep your diet on track without kicking candy to the curb!

1. Behind closed doors. Out of sight, out of mind. The key is moderation, so if you’ve got some treats on hand, you’ll be more likely to take it easy on them if they’re not right in front of you. Stash them in a high cupboard or in a drawer – not out in the open like in a bowl on the counter! 2. 100-calories packs. Did you realize that many of your favorite candy makers are producing pre-measured 100-calorie packs now? Yes, it’s true! If you love Twix, 3 Musketeers or M&M’s, you no longer have to make the decision: “Do I eat this full-sized candy bar and ruin my caloric intake for the day, or do I eat half of my candy and stare longingly at the rest of it?” Snack away on a full 100-calorie pack instead and let them do the math for you!

3. Keep binging under wraps! Have a tendency to go hog-wild on those “fun-sized” candies? It’s just too easy to keep poppin’ them into your mouth until you’ve lost track of how many you’ve eaten. So, next time, don’t throw away your wrappers – let them pile up right beside you. One glance at the wrappers will tell you when enough is enough!

4. I’m gonna get you sucker! If you are craving something sweet, have a Blow Pop! They’re big on taste but only saddle you with 60 calories and ZERO grams of fat. The best part: It’s a candy that doubles as chewing gum. Bet you didn’t know that the act of chewing gum burns 11 calories an hour!

The bottom line: Candy is dandy… and you don’t have to cut it out of your life just because you are dieting. Even a prim and proper dieter like Lady Diet can’t resist some candy now and again. So enjoy… in moderation, of course!
