Style Tricks to Look Your Slimmest!

Welcome to Diet and Fitness Podcast, a free audio podcast sponsored by Diet.com. This is your fit, fun, and fabulous host, Lady Diet, ready to give you the skinny on the latest diet, fitness, health tips and news.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could all lose 5 pounds without sweating at the gym or even thinking about calories? Well, dieting and exercising are a lot of hard work, but there are ways you can look your lightest just by the style and type of clothing you wear! No matter what the latest fashion trend happens to be, here are five tried and true flattering styles to keep you looking and feeling your best, whatever your body shape!

1) Wondering what jeans are best to make your legs appear longer and your thighs a little slimmer? Choose boot-cut jeans with a dark wash to create one slim visual line and instantly look taller and lighter. For so many people, there’s nothing more important in their wardrobe than their favorite pair of jeans, the pair you can slip on at any time and instantly feel comfier and sexier in!

2)Avoid horizontal stripes like the plague! Well, maybe that’s a bit extreme, but they do make you look wider, wherever you end up wearing them. Try vertical stripes instead for a slimming, more flattering look.

3)And if you want to trim down your waistline, don’t choose shirts that are tight around your midsection. Try a shirt with an Empire waist to mask any love handles and other bulging areas you don’t want to emphasize. The Empire style draws attention upward and away from potential problem areas.

4)Whether you’re wearing pants or skirts, skip pleats and go for smoother waists. The extra fabric just adds bulk where you least want it. Try pants with side fastenings rather than front to slim down even more!

5)To make your arms look leaner, try sporting a larger, structured handbag on your shoulder or carrying it low to take away attention from your middle. Try wearing bell-shaped sleeves to detract from thicker upper arms. Also, three-quarter sleeves will put emphasis on your thinner forearms.

Remember that no matter what you end up wearing, make sure you choose clothes that fit you to look and feel more slender. Walk with confidence and people will notice your positive attitude and strong personality! Finally, though black is always slimming (if you’ve got the right fit,) take time to learn what colors and patterns best suit you. Fashion should be fun and flattering!
