PRESS RELEASE
Launch of New Recipe Tools on Diet.com: A Virtual Cookbook
PHILADELPHIA, January 5, 2006 — By popular demand, Diet.com today launched its brand new Recipe Tools section where members can browse delicious recipes for any occasion-from entrées to desserts to ethnic cuisine. Our database contains over 1,000 nutritious and flavorful recipes thus far, further demonstrating Diet.com's commitment to helping our members improve their quality of life through healthy eating.
"Nutritious food that tastes good is one of the most important components for any successful diet," says Shauna Schultz, a registered dietitian at Diet.com. "It is our passion to help Diet.com users succeed in losing weight. Providing easy recipes for delicious meals is one way to demonstrate our commitment."
Recipe Tools offers an innovative search by nutritional information component where users can find recipes based on the amount of calories or fat per serving, as well as low sodium or high fiber content.
In essence, Recipe Tools is like a virtual cookbook. This exciting new feature allows members to not only search for great existing recipes and meal ideas in the Recipe Tools database, but rate the recipes they tried and add their own favorites for others to enjoy as well.
In addition, Recipe Tools allows members to browse through key food categories such as snacks, appetizers, salads, or main dishes to select a recipe that interests them. This browse option also provides a listing of meals popular in such ethnic cuisines as Italian, Asian, Mexican, Greek, or Indian.
Each recipe posted contains the serving amount, category (i.e. snack, dessert, breakfast idea), and nutritional information (i.e. calorie, fat, carbohydrate, protein, fiber content). Ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions are then listed. Each recipe added to Recipe Tools is approved by one of Diet.com's registered dietitians.
