I have a confession to make, and this is where I come to do it. I started my new job with the State Attorneys Office on Monday Nov. 6, 2006... and I love it. However, since then I haven't been faithful to my diet, nor have I been very faithful to diet.com. I have managed to maintain Laughing

Of course I haven't done too bad with my diet, but I feel guilty. I haven't been eating my mid morning and mid day snacks, nor have I been all that good with my water intake. Of course my job is going to be EXTREMELY BUSY while learning the process- this job is so much different than working for a private attorney, and much busier, but that is just an excuse I am making to myself. I know once I get the hang of things that I will be able to sit and take a few minutes for myself. I AM GETTING PLENTY OF EXERCISE Laughing so that is a plus... there is a lot of walking and bending, and lifting involved!!!

I do have access to the State Employees gym for free (one of the many benefits) but I started my new job with a horrific cold... And I want to cancel my membership at the local "Y" before I attempt to go to the State Employee gym. I have to cancel the membership on or before the first of the month, otherwise I will get charged .

I set my goal for next week, since I will only be in training one more day- to take my snacks in with me and eat them when I get the chance, even while I am on the computer looking cases up, etc. I will get my water intake in, as I have access to a water cooler, which is in the breakroom, so it is added steps down the hall.

I just don't want to continue to make myself feel guilty. Today I am off for Veterans day, and I have been up since 3:30 cleaning my house and doing laundry- I thought I would pop in here to do my confession, while I am waiting on the kitchen/dining room floors to dry.

Thanks for letting me confess, I feel guilty no more, as I know what I need to do... Now I just need to do it.

I'd rather EAT my calories than DRINK them. I'd rather LOSE fat than EAT it.

Wow Holli, I think that it is almost as important to KNOW when you mess up and figure out how to fix it as it is to do the right thing to start with!! Instead of just letting the stress of the situation take over, you TOOK over!! What's to feel guilty about that? You done great! I am proud for you!

The miracle is not that I finished the race, it is that I had the courage to start. --John Bingham and Steffeysue

Holli--you're doing great. You're being vigilant about your habits and you realized that you needed to be careful about your current behaviors. That's WONDERFUL! You should be patting yourself on the back!! I am confident--as you should be--that you'll continue to maintain without any problems. You've got this licked!

You have been through a LOT of change!! Even when change is happy, it still creates stress. Be loving and forgiving to yourself, as you would to a good friend in the same situation.

As my buddy Mamamiah always says, you have landed facing in the right direction! Now you just have to start movin' in that direction again.

Smile Let's go girl! You are going to do this!!!! I can hear the determination in your voice.

I dont think ytou have done a bad job.Thetre is such a thing as life between meals and workouts and sometimes you have to make adjustments. You did not blow up,go nuts, etc so pick it back up and continue to look after yourself starting now.No harm done.

I have counted to infinity twice

Thank you everyone for your words of encouragement.

I know I have been lax in posting lately, however, I am still trying to get acclomated to my new job, and manage to arrange my personal office at home the way it needs to be before classes begin again.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and take myself in, and what I need to do to adjust to the new job. However I was looking for a challenging job, and I found it. I have scheduled some time for myself tonight to sit and write down what it is I need to do to adjust my lifestyle change into my new job. I still don't eat my snacks, and well the water intake has severely dropped. Of course working for the State is a busy job, as there is just as much work on my desk when I get into the office, as when I leave. Isn't crime wonderful? ha ha It is defintely a lot different than working for a private practitioner... No down time.

I told my husband I am going to wear my pedometer into work one day just to compare the two- State Attorneys Office with a private firm. I can only imagine the difference. I will report back once I remember to slap it on. You know what, I am going to lay it out right now so I don't forget. Once I get the swing of things I am sure I will be able to fit my snacks, and my water back in.

Here's to wishing me luck... Holli
