I have found that being interested in nutrition just wasn't enough. I love cooking and love eating. I am pretty happy that I have found this website, as it really does keep things real. Talking to real people with the same issues has been a winner for my motivation so far!
I would love to chat to you guys about how you are getting on and we can share some ideas.

Hope to speak to you soon

Susan

RE: Keeping motivated
I'm also loving this site, because we are all after a healthy body. I have been on other sites where it was mainly E.D or just to lose weight. I am now trying to stay healthy and my motivation is my children. I am trying to set an example.

RE: Keeping motivated
Hi. Just found this website and seems like it could be really helpful but we need to pickup the speed a little!!

I have been counting calories and exercising for 7 years. It has worked great to me. I went from 122 to my all time low (which I am not proud of) of 94 lbs. NO I DO NOT HAVE AN EATING DISORDER. Right now I weigh 109.5 with a goal of 100. I am small built and 100 is a good weight for me. So here's my problem. I worked at home for 11 years and was able to exercise 2 hours a day. Two years ago I changed careers and began working in an office. Now I only have time to exercise 1 hour a day and junk food is way to available. I have no self control when it comes to junk food.

So what is everyone doing to stay on track or loose those last few pounds.

I count calories and exercise but I need some new motivation. Anyone else want to join me in getting motivated?

RE: Keeping motivated
Have always been happy with my weight and size until recently. 6 months ago reduced to half time work. Am loving it but I have gained 7 lbs. My son's wedding is coming up so 3 weeks ago upped my workouts from 4X week to 6X a week and increassed the cardio. Also cut down portions and increased veggies, decreased carbs. First week I lost a lb. I was happy with that and felt I was on the right track. Then I decided not to weight myself for two more weeks. This morning (3 week mark) I got on the scale hoping for maybe another 1.5 lbs and to my total horror had gained 2 lbs!! - the pound I had lost and then one more! In addition while increasing my cardio I strained my soleus muscle last night on the treadmill and will have a difficult time doing cardio until it is better. Help, only 1 month until the wedding. It is in Jamaica so swimsuits as well as mother of the groom dress! I feel like, what's the use? I am 57 - I know metabolism slows down but.....
