Any suggestions for breaking up big goals into small goals?

I'd like to lose 50 lbs by next year (preferably by Jan/Feb) but how to break that up into smaller realistic goals that can be achieved in the 6 week time period of this challenge?

RE: How to set Milestones?
Well the 2nd week of the challenge is almost over, so you could lose 4-8 pounds from now to the end of the challenge (at a rate of 1-2 pounds per week)! That could be one goal. Or, things like drinking more water, eating more fruits/vegetables, cutting back on caffeine, getting more exercise (even something like walking 15-30 min more a day), etc. There's tons of possibilities!

RE: How to set Milestones?
I've always set pounds lost as my milestones in the past and I decided to try something different. I decided to work on some of my unhealthy habits instead. Like one of my worst is "mindless" eating at the computer. So I chose to eat at the kitchen table (I always wondered what that was for) instead of at my computer. I'd visit the challenge map and look what everyone's challenges are, there are some great ideas!

Have Fun!!! Sunshine Gerl

RE: How to set Milestones?
50 pounds by February is a big goal. If you shoot for 10 pounds a month - 8 - 10 pounds by the end of the Challenge you could do it, but you really need a good plan. What are you currently doing for a meal and exercise plan? I found that when I keep my eating in check and step up my workout I can get great results. I would encourage you to also set a goal of eating healthy, not just losing weight! Let us know how we can help and welcome to the Challenge! Patty
