Okay I admit when it comes to working out I'd much rather sit on the couch and watch tv, or sit outside and watch the kids play. Do you see the pattern? I'd much rather be sitting. Hubby has been very supportive of me in my weight loss journey. Unfortunately his idea of working out is not something I really like. He goes to the gym three times a week and yes I join him. But I honestly find it rather boring being inside on a machine. So I'm looking for other ideas to work out. Any suggestions.

Do you have a bike? I like to bike because you are distracted by the ever changing view. I find the gym machines boring too! But if I have to use them, it helps to watch TV or listen to music.

I do have a bike. I'll have to give it a try. It's been a while since I was last on it.

Depending on where you live you could walk in a park, hike a trail, roller blade on a path, bike anywhere, then there is Tennis (many parks have courts).

There are so many options all around. If you can't walk outside try walking in a mall. If you have a gym can you take classes? Maybe yoga, aerobics, tai chi? There are so many options available. I used to be similar to you and now I can't wait to try new activities. I barely have enough time right now to go out hiking and I am already thinking "hey, maybe I should get roller blades or tennis rackets... or... or... or..." I am always on the look out for people outside doing active things and thinking... will I like that?

I have even considered taking up golf... weird... I never liked it much. Also the more active you get the more you will start looking for new ways to be active. On occasion I am lucky enough to head out of work early on Fridays (when all my work is done) and when I do this I head downtown to the waterfront and spend an extra hour or two walking along the boardwalk.

Oppurtunities are all around you (especially in the summer). Just stop and take a look. I got a great work out this weekend going to the zoo and walking around. :-)

Yes, this is the perfect time for lots of outdoor things. I know it can be a little hot sometimes, though.

I love taking a nice walk in the park or around my neighborhood. My husband and I have also started playing tennis at the park and badminton in the back yard. There's so many options!

If it's too hot to go outside, I recommend using free weights inside and do lunges, squats, bicep curls, etc. You can also do jumping jacks, push-ups, crunches, etc. I LOVE doing workout DVDs as well. You can find some pretty cheap and they are really enjoyable! I really like Tae Bo and anything that requires dancing. You don't even feel like you're exercising!
