No one likes this part. If I had a nickel for every excuse I heard for why people canít track what they eat, I would be so rich that I would be writing about finances instead of weight loss right now. Sorry for the run on sentence, my editor is going to love that one!
There is something about the written word. Once we write it down, it becomes real. It will also help you in identifying where your trouble spots are. You may thinkÖin your rose-colored mindÖthat you are eating healthy until you read it. Your perception is entirely different. It is similar to tracking your finances. We all think we donít spend money on anything major then we look at the break down and OUCH! The truth hurts!
I donít know about you but those little things add up. Coffee drinks, lunches, stopping at the make-up counter... they all sounded good at the time. Individually, they are not bad or pricey purchases, but at the end of the day, week and month, we may experience sticker shock. Except that it is too late, we looked after we bought.
The same is true with food. The little things add up. A handful of M&Mís, a few chips, a cookie, etc. They will add up in empty calories and impact carbs. This weekís assignment is easy. Write down everything you eat. It will make you accountable and aware of where to make changes.
