Want to know the date you will reach your weight loss goal? Then you need the Body Evolver.
Many weight loss programs estimate how many calories your body requires to maintain your current weight. But did you know that at your local gym, you can actually find out the number of calories you can eat, how long you need to exercise each day and learn when you will reach your ideal body weight if you follow the plan?
That's right! In Boston, this service is offered exclusively at Revolution Fitness on the South End/Back Bay border and is also available nationwide at select gyms. I recently went for a visit to find out how this process went.
First CPT Mike D'Angelo took my measurements. He was very precise in where he measured and took note so we can measure the exact same location next month. He then had me step on a scale, and then used calibers to get my body fat percentage. After he plugged in all the number the results came back with warm smiley faces.
Based on my numbers, Mike told me that my body needs around 1500 calories to run (not including exercise). Based on my meal plan courtesy of Fresh Diet and my current exercise routine, I should lose 5 lbs of body fat in just 3 weeks! Holy cow. How cool is that!
Now I don't know if I necessarily want to lose 5 lbs, I'm happy with how I look however, it does pay to know how many calories my body burns when I'm not exercising. Why do I care? Well this number is good because on days when I don't work out, it's important for me to not exceed this number to stay my weight. On days I do workout, I know I can eat about 200-300 more and stay the same weight. If I want to lose, then obviously I'd forgo this extra snack.
Recent studies have suggested that people who exercise do not lose more weight than those that do not. You can easily eat 500 calories in 10 minutes for dessert but even if you work out, most people will be eating too many.
