If you eat the same way you did 10 years ago, odds are you will gain weight. That’s because as we age our muscle mass and metabolism decreases so our bodies need less calories.
Along the same lines, as you lose weight, your body needs less calories (approximately 8 calories less per pound lost) because there’s less of you. If you’ve already lost 20 pounds, your body may need 160 calories less than before you lost the weight.
