I have been trying to make a smoothie every morning for breakfast. This works well for me. It gives me a healthy start to the day. The extra few minutes it takes to get out the blender, get out the ingredients, mix it up and then clean it all up are saved by me being able to bring it with me and drink in the car. I know I shouldn’t eat on the run, but in this case it is actually helpful. When I get to work I am full because I have just finished my smoothie and it keeps me from running through a drive-thru on the way there.

I usually try to use almond milk as the liquid base for my smoothie and add some fruit or yogurt, but the last smoothie I made was a strawberry lemonade smoothie. That was delicious and maybe not as nutritious as some of the others I have made, but good none the less. I used about 1 cup of frozen strawberries, the juice of ½ of a lemon, 1 cup of water, 1 tbs or so of chia seeds (I soaked them in a little water before I used them) and I added a little honey and a little blue agave syrup (about ½ tbs of each). I blended it on the “crush ice” setting for a while and it was ready to go. True, this may not be ideal as a breakfast smoothie, but it is great as a treat or when you need something refreshing.

Sounds delicious! Glad you found something that works for you. I myself love coffee in the morning, because i feel like it curbs my appetite until lunch. I know most wouldn't suggest this, but its what works for me (:
