As I reported last week, Nicole Ritchie and stylist Rachel Zoe have broken up. Tear tear. Let the claws come out. Here are exerpts from their battle of released statements:
Rachel Zoe released this statement November 27th:
"There has been a lot of speculation as to the cause of my parting with client Nicole Richie. The tabloid reports have no merit. After trying to be a good friend to Nicole, we made a mutual decision to sever our working relationship. Changes are inevitable in any business relationship. I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful life, I have been married for 10 years and have been a stylist for more than 15 years and am lucky to work with such a diverse group of women of all shapes and sizes that inspire me everyday. I have nothing but love for Nicole and wish her only health and happiness."
Nicole retaliated the same day with this posting on her official MySpace:
"What 35 year old raisin face whispers her order of 3 peices of asparagus for dinner at Chateau everynight, and hides her deathly disorder by pointing the finger at me, and used her last paycheck I wrote her to pay for a publisist instead of a nutritionist?
HINT: Her nickname is lettucecup..."
Hmmmm... did I not say this a week ago? Looks like misery loves company, Zoe used her influence on her clients to get them to lose weight. A little history for those of you who are not familiar with the Richie/Zoe relationship: Her name began to appear in tabloids when Richie and Lohan became super skinny and fashion icons. The footless tights were first spotted on both of them after dining on Robertson Blvd. A year later, every store has footless tights. Zoe can thank these Hollywood glam girls for her fame and these girls can thank Zoe for their impact on setting the trends. Did Zoe use these girls? If they never lost all that weight, they wouldn't have been in the tabloid as much and neither would the clothes they were wearing? Is someone more concerned with their own publicity than their clients' health? As for Richie's "eating" issues, I think it's clear to say where she learned her tricks.
