Workout Tips to Help you Look and Feel Your Best

Since it's flu season and that's the hottest health buzz these days, we are increasingly aware of the germs that surround us. A health club is certainly one of the most "germy" places most people will ever go into.
Each day you can have hundreds of people all using (read: SWEATING, BREATHING, TOUCHING) the same equipment, in the same space. So what can you do to avoid picking up a virus at the gym?

1. Wash your hands before and after you go to the gym
Avoid spreading germs by washing your hands when you first get to the gym. When you're done with your work out and heading home, stop to wash your hands before you even get to the car and start touching things you touch regularly.

2. Use hand sanitizer
A lot of health clubs are starting to install hand sanitizer dispensers around their facilities, and even keeping a bottle at the front desk. Squirt some on before and after your workout, and if they have the dispensers all around, go ahead squirt some on between machines or equipment.

3. Don't wipe sweat with your hands
The more you touch your face, the more likely you'll be to spread germs to your mouth, nose or eyes. Wipe sweat with a towel to avoid touching your face.

4. No barefeet
This may seem obvious, but make sure you always have your feet covered. if you ever shower at the gym, buy a pair of flip flops to live in your gym bag so you won't forget them.

5. Wipe machines/equipment before and after use
Avoid getting other people's bacteria and germs on your clothing and skin by wiping machines and equipment before using them. This includes free weights! ...    Continue
