Gotta take a break from working out for a bit...posted @2:55pm ET on July 27, 2012
Last night was probably one of the scariest moments of my life.
Yesterday I drove 3 hours to Chapel Hill to pick up a friend who was coming in from out of town. I ate a small frozen pizza around 10:30 or 11 that morning and didn't eat again until we got back to Boone, and even then it was a 6" subway sub. I thought I did well at staying hydrated. I had a bottle of water with me in the car.
Last night we got back, each opened a bottle of wine and started drinking. I only had one glass and then my friend wanted to step out for a smoke so I went out with him. While we were outside I suddenly started getting really light headed and the next thing I remember was laying on the porch of my apartment building, my face hurting like crazy and my friend being on the phone with 911. I had passed out and landed on my chest/shoulder and my face. I told my friend that I didn't need an ambulance and that I was fine, but I was still scared out of my mind. He helped me back inside and got my icepack from the freezer for my cheek where the scrape was. He helped keep me awake for about an hour, then I told him I really needed a nap. So I napped for a while, with him checking in on me every 15-20 minutes. He got some water in me and one of my friends came over later and she encouraged more water intake as well as to eat something, even something smell. I felt better as the night progressed and by 4am I was finally ready to actually get some sleep.
Today I feel ok. My face is just really sore and has a huge bruise (see the pic below) and my chest, shoulder and side on my left side of my body are really sore when I move. So until that heals up, I'm going to take it easy when it comes to exercising.
