Celebrities and Diet

If you watch what you eat because you know itís going to show up on your thighs later, you probably have mixed feelings when you see thin celebrities promoting greasy chain restaurants. You either watch in disbelief that the celebrity actually eats the product they are promoting, or you despise their ability to eat fatty foods and still look amazing.

When Jessica Simpson first became the Pizza Hut spokesperson I was very skeptical to believe if she actually ate the stuff. One of the commercials were even shot in her Daisy Dukes! I donít think she went near a single slice while training to wear those short shorts. Any way, J.Simp is on the cover this month of Elle. She told the magazine that she is actually ALLERGIC to pizza! Ok, so I didnít think she really ate the stuff, but I would like to think that she at least CAN eat it without getting hospitalized. Here is what she told Elle Magazine:
ďThere was that internal bleeding discovered last year around the time she was filming Employee of the Month; doctors found the presence of the little bugger thought to cause ulcers. Recently, Simpson tells me, after she was still feeling not quite right, an allergist delivered news that would chill the heart of anyone reared on Texan cuisine: She's allergic to cheese. And wheat. Oh, and tomatoes...Ē

So pizza gives J.Simp ulcers. There you have it. She endorses it, but doesnít eat it. Thank you Pizza Hut for choosing a convincing spokesperson. I was trying to think of other skinny celebrities that represent fast food chains, but being Friday and going to New York City this weekend to reunite with my fabulous friends, I really canít think. I also have Tivo so I never watch commercials anymore. Carmen Elektra promotes Taco Bell and a diet pill called NV. What are some other ridiculous celebrity endorsements you guys find hard to believe they actually eat/enjoy?

@ 2:25pm ET on February 23, 2007 OK, it's not a celeb endorsement, but what do you think of the 'Itsy Bitsy Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' commercial, where the gal starts out in a giant thick robe with her little skinny face and legs showing, and as the commercial progresses the cloths get skimpier, but the skinny face and legs remain! how dumb do they think we are? if only I could be skinny by wearing skimpy cloths!
@ 3:19pm ET on February 23, 2007 I was going to say Carmen Electra (as you have already mentioned) with all the ads that she has been doing lately. I can understand the diet one, but Taco Bell? I highly doubt that she eats that, AND she has a commercial for Ritz Cameras - she must really be hurting for money.
