Choose the top five values that you want to be your priority, not the ones that are occupying your time. Since we focus on wellness and weight loss, I am going to let you in on a little secret. If health and fitness are not one of your top 3 values, you won't manage your weight loss. It needs to be up there at the top.
People approach weight loss like a project, like planning a wedding or a major event. They have a timeline, milestones and goals. They outline their plan and follow it. This is why Weight Watchers is successful. Because following a food plan, weighing in and having support works. Once the weight is off, people start to sway. They look at weight maintenance differently. Now the event is over and they can return to their lives. They have a sense of relief. If that feeling lasts more than a week, the weight will return. Enjoy the weight loss, celebrate the success AND keep health, fitness and weight management a top priority.
This is why I want you to rank your top five values in order. If they conflict with what is on your personal assessment, you need to re-prioritize your life. This is not a judgment. If you do not mindfully and deliberately orientate your life around your values, someone else will. And guess what? Your life will be focused on their values, not yours.
