Hey Diet.com members and visitors!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday - did you have a nice weekend? I did a great deal of relaxing this weekend, but I also did a lot of swimming. I also bought a fun inflatable football which I got to toss around at the beach with my boyfriend. What'd you get into this weekend?

Well you know I like to share diet and fitness news with you all, so I thought you might be curious to know about a new diet I read about today.

We all know that for some folks, losing weight and maintaining that weight loss isn't just about eating well and exercising. For some of us, genetics can actually play a huge role in not only our weight, but how our bodies metabolize and store fat. This new diet (called the GenoVive program) actually takes your DNA into account - and develops a diet/meal plan for you based on your unique genetics.

@ 9:38pm ET on August 22, 2011 I think it is great. I have been on GenoVive for 3 1/2 months now and it is amazing. I have been on diets before and this is so much better. I feel wonderful and I think it is because I am eating the foods that my body type works best with. I have lost 34 lbs, and feel better then I have felt in a long time. I did not have the cravings when I first started like you do on other diets. I also find that on my free days I now look for the food that match my DNA.
@ 9:27am ET on August 23, 2011 While I couldn't get to the link you posted (Gov't computer, whatever it is they have it blocked) but i was able to read a few things regarding the concept and it makes sense. It's simple truth that no diet works for everyone. I know I've tried a number of different diets/programs until I finally just... well, made my own I guess. Not that what I am eating is some groundbreaking discovery in the world of dieting or anything (low-ish carb, CORRECT fats, High protien). I just went with what FELT right, and sure enough, started seeing results.
