You have to be ready to admit that you have a problem before you can really do anything about your weight. And you need to have a good motivator - not just a wedding, not just a dress to fit into, not just a resolution. For me it was not wanting to develop diabetes and my risk for that was a 7, I didn't want hbp which I was borderline for, or heart disease or a stroke. I want to be able to enjoy my children and their grand children outside of a wheel chair or not being able to move the way I want to unless of course it is beyond my control.
Weight loss is a life style change and you have to practice until it becomes a habit and not give up. You have to be ready. You can't wake up one day and be ready. It takes time. AND a support group is far more important than I ever dreamed.
