Today marks one year since I became a diet.com member. Since then I've lost about 30 pounds. As always, I feel like I should be further along in my journey... but again, progress is progress.

It's been an interesting year. I've learned a lot about portioning, eating healthier, AND I successfully weened myself off of soda. Granted, I still drink soda every so often but I'm very rarely actually craving a soda. I mostly drink like, a can of something diet when I'm at work and only if I'm drained and really tired and just need that little extra umph to get through the rest of my shift. But considering I used to go through around 24 cans of Mountain Dew in a week... yeah I'd say its an improvement ha ha

I still have a long way to go. Well, about 15 pounds or so to go until I reach my goal of 135. My body is still getting used to my new medicine, so until then I have to work even harder to keep the pounds off and my weight decently under control. My mom's scale has been fairly unpredictable, so I don't fully trust it. But when I get back to Boone I will be able to get a better handle on how much, if any, I've actually lost this past week. Since I've been working pretty hardcore on my mom's treadmill this week, I hope it gives me the nice lil kick start I need.

Anywho, I'm going to watch a bit of TV and possibly get some lunch or something made at some point since I have to be at work later. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!

@ 10:45pm ET on June 16, 2012 Happy Anniversary! 30 pounds is significant. Continue to be good to yourself and I bet you will make those last 15 disappear!
@ 12:16pm ET on June 17, 2012 I really wish that I had taken a before picture a year ago. I just honestly didn't think I would have stuck with it this long. I usually diet and exercise for maybe a month, sometimes two, and then quit. And while this past semester of school I did get really slack, I still didn't really "give up". But I'm sure that if I had taken a before picture and compared it with a picture of me now, I'd probably feel better about just losing 30 pounds in a year because I'd be able to see the results better.
@ 2:25pm ET on June 18, 2012 SO proud of you for kicking the soda habit. That's such a big deal! Your goal is within sight now, and you've got one year and 30 lbs behind you! I agree it would be awesome to see a "before" pic - there's gotta be one somewhere! You should spend a little bit of time trying to find some pictures of you from throughout the past year and putting them together in a visual timeline. Imagine how gratifying it would be to see your progress laid out like that!
