I have to keep reminding myself that this is a marathon, not a sprint. I'm simply not going to make it to my goals in days or weeks, its going to take months, possibly more than a year. I have a lot of weight to lose. I've made some progress, but I still have a ways to go.

My higher calorie eating is working! I've got my daily intake goal set for about 2400, and my minimum at 1600. I hit about 1900-2000 most days.

I've noticed an incredible difference, though its hard to say if its just the diet or the fact that I ditched the birth control I was on, lol. But I am feeling far more energetic, happier, and just ... BETTER in almost every way.

I've lost about 3lbs in the past 3 weeks or so. Seems like its been less than that and that its taken longer than that... but when I check, I am reassured. I'm trying not to weigh myself every day because that just messes with my head... so I'm weighing myself every 4-5 days instead. Every time I get on the scale and see "only" a .2 lb drop or whatever... I remind myself... 'hey... at least its a smaller number than the last time you were on here!' :)

So lets see. I'm down to 195lbs and can squeeze into size 14 jeans. They're a bit tight, but they don't hurt to wear. :)
I've lost 27lbs and 2 pant sizes since Christmas.
I am all the way out of my maternity pants! (Though I still wear them because they're so comfortable LOL)

And BEST of all... people are starting to notice! :D

I'd still love to be down to 190 by June, but I'm thinking its going to be more like... I'll get to 190 IN June. :P No rush... its not a sprint.

I'm so proud of you Rachel!! This is a great, motivating blog! I love that you're being kind to yourself and patting yourself on the back for your success, instead of getting upset that you're not reaching your goal weight overnight (no one can!!!). The positive self-talk will get you so far - much further than any negative feelings will!

Congratulations on your steady weight loss, your dropped pants sizes, the compliments you're getting from people - everything!! Keep up the wonderful work - I'm SURE you can reach your 190 goal in June, and that you'll continue to creep closer to that goal between now and the end of May. You should start taking progress pictures of yourself to keep yourself even more motivated! :)

I've been taking progress pictures every 10lbs actually, and they are VERY motivating! The last ones I took at 200 ... the difference that the 20lbs made was incredible. I'm excited to get these next 5lbs off so that I can add another picture to my little collage thingy! :)

First of all, Congrats on the baby! I had to go back and see the baby picture and he is just too adorable!!
Glad to see that you are doing so well on your diet. :) Looks like both of our goal is to get out of the pesky 190's. I'd complain, but it's much better than the 200's, right? haha

Awe you're doing so well girl!!!!! Major congrats! I've had a LOT of back sliding lately. I came in at 149 today which is where I seem to be stuck lately. But now that school is out for the summer I really want to try harder. Get back to how I used to be.

You're doing a fabulous job and the whole "This isn't a marathon" thing is something I have to keep in mind too. I've only lost about 30 pounds since June 16th of last year. So it's been a very slow process, which is sort of irritating... but like you said, it's not a race.

Keep up the great work!
