5 Tips on How to Prevent the Flu and Other Illnesses this Year
“Flu-Free Formula!”
Everywhere you look there’s something about catching the flu, Swine Flu, and what seems like the next great plague.
I’m really not falling for it…
Especially since I’m such a big believer in everyone’s ability to build up their own personal defenses to chronic illnesses, as well as the flu.
It all starts with how you treat your body and today I’m going to give you the top 5 tips to prevent the flu this year and create a greater sense of wellness. I call it my “flu-free formula!”
Let’s take a quick look at what we do know…
The Journal of Infectious Diseases now believes that moderate exercise can not only boost your immune system, but also knock viruses out of your body if caught soon enough.
Plus, we now know that just two 12oz sodas or fruit juice drinks per day lowers your immune system from all the excess sugar your body has to deal with…(that means
just 2 glasses of a juice or soda can make you more susceptible!)
Also, stress and lack of sleep have been shown to leave your body more vulnerable to catching a cold or virus (and to developing more severe chronic diseases).
So now let’s develop an overall
“flu-free formula” that will strengthen our bodies and keep us healthy all year long!
Here are my top 5 ways to achieve wellness and stay flu-free:
1. Be Extra Careful With What You Eat- It’s essential that you drastically limit your sugar intake especially from refined sources like soda and fruit juice
2. Exercise For 30-45 Minutes 3-5x Per Week- There’s no need to wipe yourself out all in one workout. You’ll actually get a better boost in your metabolism and your immune system if you do shorter, better quality workouts
3. Reduce Your Intake of Inflammatory Foods- Inflammatory foods wreak havoc on your immune system by creating inflammation in your body and create higher levels of the stress hormone, cortisol...
(free video on inflammatory foods at www.Lose5in7.com!)
4. Increase Your Food Intake of Dark Green Vegetables- You can also add all bright colored veggies to this list, but the more spinach, brussel sprouts, and broccoli you can add to your daily diet the better. Literally, these foods are your “best medicine” to stay healthy.
5. Get Your ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ’s- I know you’re busy… but if you get sick you’ll be out of commission for a week and that’s not going to help you out either. Aim for 7-8+ hours of uninterrupted sleep EVERY night. This will do wonders for repair and regeneration within your body.
BONUS TIP: Reduce Your Stress!
- You probably have a million reasons to be stressed out right now, but it’s how you react to your experiences that creates stress. Now is the best time to begin working on your deep breathing and relaxing your body in moments of stress. After you hear, read, or experience something learn to NOT react immediately. In time you’ll develop the ability to take a deep breath, organize your thoughts, and not let your present circumstance get the best of you. You’re better than that ; )
I sincerely hope you put all 6 tips to work for you…
They have been proven to create a healthy happy body and these tips are the
“natural vaccine” you’ll need to keep you going strong all year long!
