Hello, I am new in this site and I really need to lose 20 pounds, right now I am at 148 and 5ft3 so I am very overweight, but I need a diet plan, something I can follow, not just stop eating carbs or something like that... I dont know what to do, where can I find a plan with 1200 cal a day??
I am kinda lost so I would really apreciate if someone here could help me or tell me how you've lost weight.
thank you all!!!!  |

What has worked for me is a combination of things. I find that writing your food intake and exercise down is the best way for me to track my progress. You'd be amazed at how much you consume w/out even realizing it. But writing it down in a journal can show you what your weaknesses are and what your "bad" times of the day are, etc. I also find that planning your meals the night before is helpful, because then your menu is planned out and you're less likely to deviate from that plan.
If you want to just count calories, I suggest checking out the Biggest Loser book. It came out a few years ago and is helpful and has recipes.
As far as exercise, I just walk, cuz that's what I love to do. I don't really enjoy weights or the gym. I try to do 15-20 miles a week. In the winter, I love Leslie Sansone's walking dvd's.
I'm by no means an expert on weight loss, but these things have certainly helped me. I'm down 55lbs and only have 20 to go! Good luck to you both! |

Hey there!
If you already know that you want to maintain a 1200 cal diet, then you don't need a specific plan- you need to count.
What has been working for me is to;
1) eat a great breakfast with a fruit and a grain (like 1/2 grapefruit and a slice of oaty whole grain toast, or a banana sliced up on some frosted mini wheats)
2) have a light snack in the middle of the day (either a fruit, granola bar(be careful with these though some are really unhealthy), a small salad, a small portion of left over dinner etc..) and
3) eat an early dinner between 530-630pm with a meat and veggie base (salmon and asparagus, or lean burger and broccolli, or even a stir fry or curry which are great if you dont like the taste of veggies.)
Beware snacking! Drink some juice, coffee, or tea instead, and also, treat yourself once a week so something SMALL and tasty! (I personally like brownies or 2-3 ginger snap cookies!) |
