Hi, there - just signed up. I can't find a place for my signature line under "Profile." Perhaps I need a paid membership for this? I am looking for a website where we support each other and we can have a ticker... found a great ticker site (tickerfactory.com).

So... can anyone help me here? I'm not ready to pay for membership until I see how I like the site. Thanks!

Alice

Hey there Alice,
Welcome to Diet.com! It's great to have you here. We had previously allowed for tickerfactory tickers on our site, but they were causing an issue with our pages so we had to disable them.

However, since you are looking for a community who will support one another, you have certainly come to the right place! Our blogs and message boards are a terrific support system, giving everyone a forum to voice their stresses and joys and successes and dieting issues and allowing members to communicate directly with one another. This atmosphere of both accountability and support together has done wonders for thousands of other Diet.com bloggers and posters, and I'm sure it can do the same for you!

You can poke around the site to see all of the other features available to you as a free member. Recipes, videos, trackers and workout builder are all available, among several other tools.

As a paid member, you will receive exclusive one-on-one access to our experts - the Medical Director of our Personality Type Diet program, Dr. Robert Kushner, as well as our site's registered dietitians. You'll also receive meal plans and a 4-stage plan to address the dieting obstacles for your particular dieting personality type. You'll even receive a premium weekly newsletter directly from Dr. Kushner! There are tons more bonuses, too!

You can upgrade at any time in the upper right hand corner of your screen, when logged in.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

All the best,
CSL-Bailey

Hi, there! Thanks for the response. I understand it - I just wish we could have a ticker. It's fun to see people's tickers march along. Any chance some clever computer wizard type might create one for diet.com?

Also, can you tell me if we have the capacity for threaded posts here? It would be nice to be able to reply to an individual rather than reply only in the thread. Or am I blind here?

THANK YOU for your time and effort! You're a sweetie!

Hey Alice!
I will certainly pass along your suggestion to our developers and see if they can whip anything up for us! I'm glad to hear that you've got such a great focus on community support!

So regarding your threading question (and please let me know if I am misunderstanding your question) one way to address a member individually, rather than replying to an entire thread is to click on the little blue "PM" button beside their name in the thread. This is so you can send them a Personal Message, which only that user can see.

Let me know whether or not that answers your question!

All the best,
CSL-Bailey

Hi, CSL-Bailey! Thank you so much for your kind reply. Yes, you understood my question - I was wondering about nested threads. I've hit "quote" to reply here... I'm going to see if that will accomplish it. It's an experiment!

Smile

It really would be great if we could have tickers! I am 55 years old and am working every ounce off... I would love to watch it inch along on a ticker. And of course have the opportunity to cheer others on and enjoy their success.

I appreciate your time and attention - what a sweetie! Now... I'm going to see if this post will be nested. I like nested threads because you can pick a post to respond to and it's clear whom you are responding to.

Thank you!

Very Happy

Oh bummer - it didn't indent. So - I guess we don't have nested threads here. Ah well - I'm sure there are plenty of lovely people with a great community. So I guess those are my two requests... my two cents' worth. (Or is it four cents... ?)

I would love tickers and nesting of posts.

Thanks for your time and effort!
