My Janet Jackson Weight Loss Conspiracy Theory
Janet Jackson is flaunting her awkwardly pristine six-pack again. This time, she is dishing out how she has kept off her 60 pounds weight loss in this week’s issue of US magazine.
Here is what she says in the most recent issue on stands now or Friday depending on where you live:
On keeping the weight off: “I have a great support system to keep me on track… But I still don’t like working out. It’s hard for me. I have to push myself to want to do it.”
On the fear of packing on the pounds again: “I have moments—I crave chocolate, or just want to eat. One thing that helps is getting my clothes altered to fit so I can tell when I gain or lose. I used to wear overalls all the time, and my mom said, ‘Baby, don’t do that or you won’t know how much you lose.’”
On how you can look like her: “If I can do it, anybody can do it. Eating light and clean helps, but you really shouldn’t think of it as a diet, otherwise you feel like you’re depriving yourself. If you crave something, you should have a little bit of it, then let it go and move on. Do a little exercise so you’re back on track.”
On eating right: “It’s about control and it’s a balanced diet. Of course I have cheat days! Especially with my dancers, who love to eat. And after a hard day of work, they want to unwind and grab a drink, and alcohol is not good for my diet with all the extra calories. I try to have a glass of wine, but then somebody comes with a lemon drop and it’s so good. You feel like you’re drinking cough syrup or candy, and before you know it, the next day comes and you feel it. I make up for it with a few more reps when I lift weights.”
When she first lost most of her weight, many bloggers (myself included) thought she painted on a six-pack for pictures (you know, like shadowing for definition.) I know this sounds silly, but the pics looks ridiculous, especially since she was claiming she just lost 60 pounds, wouldn’t she need a tummy tuck? It seemed like the tabloids could not get enough of buff Janet, and I could not have cared less. Sorry, but I'm honest. Any way, I’m going to start my own conspiracy theory right now. Here it is:
I don’t think Janet Jackson ever gained 60 pounds. When she “gained” all this weight, supposedly she was preparing for a role in a movie that fell through. She was rarely photographed, but when she was, she was wearing sweat pants and baggy clothes. Most of the time, they looked to be taken over 100 yards away. How do we even know if this is really her, because US Weekly told us? If they said Jennifer Aniston hated Angelina would you believe them? Well ok, yes I would but they do not always report the truth.
She really wasn’t doing anything, no upcoming album or movies. Then she has an album coming out and BAMM she is on the cover of all these magazines flaunting her great body again. Ms Jackson was diagnosed in 1990 with anorexia nervosa and bulimia. Although I was never diagnosed of an ED, I do know many people who have suffered from these terrible diseases, and it’s not something that really goes away. After treatment, you can eat and be healthy, but most of the time anorexics that need to be hospitalized rarely gain so much weight that they are considered obese by medical standards. I can back this statement up, but I am afraid I am going to cause WAY too much drama for diet.com.
Anyway, back to my theory. So Janet all of a sudden has an album coming out. Next thing you know, a few fat pictures pop up and then we see her in a bikini on the cover of, of course, US weekly! So the publicity for her weight loss conveniently went hand in hand with the drop of her new record. How else were we suppose to know Janet Jackson was coming out with another mediocre album? Now, she is seen as someone who can sympathize with the majority of Americans, which before she really had nothing that made her seem like you or me (her family, growing up, Neverland?!) Well done to Jackson’s publicist. Conspiracy theories are fun to make up and see how many people you can get to believe you. But seriously I really do think this.
