Hollywood's Newest Hot Spot: The Farmer's Market
Did you know that you can save money on fresh healthy produce and catch a random spotting of A-list celebrities? If you've planned a trip to Los Angeles recently, most of you (if you are like me) want to see at least ONE celebrity, right? Want to know where to catch these celebs during the day light without getting beat up like a paparazzi?
We see celebrities eating at glam restaurants like The Ivy on Robertson (which is where all the good shopping/paparazzi pics take place. But the rich and famous can't keep a slim figure by eating out every meal, right? To load up on healthy fresh produce, the celebs flock to farmers markets. Great prices, fresh delicious fruits and veggies, who wouldn't take advantage of these great deals? Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Marcia Cross, Naomi Watts and Adam Sandler have all been hitting LA's newest hot spot. I am pretty sure the one they all go to is at the corner of Fairfax and Third but there are also ones in Brentwood, Westwood and probably many other locations. Let me know if I'm wrong.

You can catch a new video of how to shop at a Farmers Market with Diet.com's newest featured weight loss challenger coming up so make sure to keep your eye out.

I have been to LA probably ten times. I even lived there for a month with my brother. I don't think I saw a single celebrity unexpectedly. I interned on the Warner Bros. lot so I saw my fair share there, but only this past February did I see T.R. Knight shopping while I was eating lunch at a restaurant that was chosen because I saw LC and Brody Jenner out on a date at the same restaurant/clothing/antique store during an episode of The Hills.
Also, despite looking like a skeleton, Courtney Love tells People Magazine that she has actually gained 10 pounds thanks to cupcakes! On her MySpace blog she wrote, ""ive put on 10 pounds (thank you Sprinkles cupcakes wic h i must admit are overrated)." The singer took a jab at herself during a recent concert by taking a sip of a protein shake saying, "I need to take care of my eating disorder," to then proceed to say, she did not have an eating disorder. Whatever... That body of hers has been to hell and back. In April, Love claimed to have shed 52 lbs. thanks to a diet of Isopure shakes, fish and vegetables.
Last but not least, Gwen Stefani admits to being neurotic about her weight. This is news? I thought we've always known this... |

Celebrity Diet and Exercise Secrets for Summer
Now, that we know Courtney Love didn’t get a gastric band, she is revealing to People magazine just how she lost 52 pounds since December 2006. Last week I talked about her response to the rumors in a barely comprehendible blog and now she is giving us her secret to success. The boat is still out in my book on whether or not she is clean after her blog (Or maybe she just isn’t literate).
“The singer says she's dropped the 52 lbs. since Dec. 21, starting out drinking 1,200-calorie Isopure shakes during the day and eating fish and vegetables at night. She also added a fitness routine that incorporated running on a treadmill, Pilates and yoga. She also had her breast implants removed. "I just quietly did it, you know?" she says.”
We always see pictures of celebrities out at night clubbing, on set, or walking hand in hand with their latest hubby with a starbucks in hand. There have been a lot of pictures lately showing celebrities leaving the gym. These ladies work hard for their bodies. Check out his picture of Jessica Alba leaving the gym. She is drenched with sweat. Wonder what she did inside?

Other celebrities frequently photographed leaving the gym are Cameron Diaz, Fergie and Jessica Biel. Jennifer Aniston is often shown running around LA and more recently Tori Spelling and her husband were also photographed jogging together around tinsel town.
They reveal in this week’s In Touch magazine how they stay in shape and are preparing for bikini season (which is year round for globe trotting celebs if you ask me.)
Vanessa Minnillo says that she eats four small meals a day. Beyonce hula-hoops for hours on end. Cameron Diaz eats whatever she wants but exercises like a fiend. Pink’s trainer has her drink a special “fat-burning” lemonade for 11 days. Jessica Biel eats five protein and veggie meals a day. Denise Richard counts calories. Scarlett Johanson still has age and metabolism on her side and does little to stay in shape, which is also why she is not a member of the scary skinny crowd. Rod Stewart’s daughter and Paris Hilton BFF (at one point) Kimberly Stewart reveals that she keeps her figure in check with a healthy diet and an exercise regime of yoga, spinning, running and, more unusually, pole dancing lessons.
Feel free to post any tips you have or if you know any other secrets of celebs, but these aren’t really secrets in my opinion, just different approaches to healthy lifestyles (sans Pink).

JLo Loves Her Size 6, plus Celebs at the Beach
In this week’s roundup of celebrities and diet, there have been many photos circulating the internet of celebrities who seem to have lost their magically perfect bodies. Personally, I could care less. There is also a new article from a certain celebrity known for curves (who I normally do not really like, but I love her new article) that I think is totally worth telling you all about.
First, Jennifer Lopez is speaking up about her size-6 figure she is damn proud of. She claims she has been this size for the past decade, which I believe, and that we will never see her looking like a skeletor, which I also believe.
JLo tells the British edition of Elle Magazine in the May issue, “I couldn't ever be a size zero. I just don't see how I could get down to that size and still be healthy.”
"It wouldn't work. I have a butt, I have boobs and I have a woman's curves; there is no way I'd see them go to zero. I hate to look in a magazine and see a picture of a girl who looks so thin she looks unhappy and as if she just needs someone to give her a good meal."
The 37 year old continues, "There are girls out there who are naturally thin and who look great, but it's got to the point where models are dropping dead on catwalks because it's all about being thin. It's insane."
"But I like my body. My husband [singer Marc Anthony, 38] likes my body. And for most of my adult life, my body hasn't gone up or down, it's remained the same, give or take four pounds. I'm not obsessive. I work out with a trainer two or three times a week, but I'll go months at a time without any exercise at all. I just keep myself in check."
"I eat meat, I eat carbs, I even eat McDonald's. What I don't do is ever overeat. I don't eat desserts and I can limit the chocolate chip cookies to one or two."
If she does gain a few Lopez admits, "I feel it immediately and I just get a bit more strict with myself."
What’s her best tip of advice? "For me, looking good is all about looking healthy, and the ultimate beauty secret is about being happy in yourself.
Lastly, in the world of internet gossip sites, people can’t get enough of celebs in bathing suits looking less than perfect. You kill yourself to lose 10 pounds for a particular role, when shooting ends who can blame the actors for wanting to indulge during their time off. They are human after all let’s not forget.
On Monday, there was Tara Reid spilling out of her bikini. At least she wasn’t spilling her martini for all the paparrazi to document, right? Check it out here
Then there was Courtney Love who lost a ton of weight and looks good with clothes on. I guess the bloggers out there don’t appreciate the extra skin, but hey, I say good for her for losing the pounds. I’m sure she can take people criticizing her in a bikini. Click here to see for yourself
The most recent photo to surface is of none other than Kill Bill’s Uma Thurman. I think she looks great minus the saggy boobs, but that could all be helped if she wasn’t wearing this bikini. You’d think her stylist would teach her how shop for a flattering bathing suit right? See the suit here
So you’re telling me celebrities aren’t perfect? What?! This is unbelievable! Celebrities thrust themselves into the public eye and that is why bloggers can talk trash, legally. I do have a small problem when the bloggers themselves try to steal the spotlight, a hem Perez. Can we start talking trash about him yet because I think it’s about time this man gets what is coming to him? He’s got quite the belly on himself. |
